Funders Forum

Learning together. Investing together. Shaping AI in education for DC.

An afternoon convening on the eve of the inaugural AI Education Leadership Summit, bringing funders inside the work of the Capital AI Education Collective.

Together we will look at what is already growing in DC classrooms, learn from states leading the way on AI in K–12, and explore where philanthropy can accelerate DC's path to its 2030 goal.

The Afternoon's Purpose

Go inside the Capital AI Education Collective's work

A first look at what the AI Collective has set in motion since the beginning of summer 2026, including early findings from our Strategic Councils and a preview of the state of AI in DC schools.

Learn from states leading the way

State education leaders share what is working in their systems, what philanthropy made possible, and what DC can borrow as it builds its own approach.

See what is growing in DC classrooms

Bright spots from DC schools and organizations already navigating AI, alongside voices from early adopters on what they are learning and where they have stumbled.

Look ahead to what young people face

Labor market evidence and workforce voices on how AI is reshaping entry-level work, and what that demands of the adults preparing our young people for what comes next.

Who will be in the room

A gathering of ~40 participants invested in exploring AI's impact in our schools and ensuring our students thrive in this AI era.
